We are Family…

I have been gone for a minute now I am back on the scene. I feel refreshed and rejuvenated! I just want to take a minute to shout-out to my SL family. My mom JBoogiemomma09, My Daddy Dewayne, My Auntie Queenlim, my Sisters Lifing and Luralie. I just want ya’ll to know that I love you dearly and thank you for supporting me in my time of need. Ya’ll are truly irreplacable!!!! I Love you All!!!!

Blu Correia…My biggest support in SL has been occupied lately with RL affairs. Just felt like saying to you that you are sorely missed. I understand completely because RL always comes first Make your way back to me when you are able. A part of me will be missing until you return. I will be here and keep pushing on with my modeling career…Love You Always

The Journey Ahead…

I am looking forward to seeing the challenges to come with the Miss Refined International Contest. I really enjoyed this one and I plan to keep this blog going after the contest is over It’s a great way to keep a record of all the interesting daily events that go in SL modeling. I look forward to continuing on in Miss Refined International I’m glad I chose to compete. Has been fun so far!

L’AADM Alumni

I graduated today …I am now a TOMA model. Everything that could have gone wrong did from crashing and burning to the sim restarting in the middle of our finale. I am so thankful though because I was surrounded by supportive fellow models and all my SL family & friends. The lesson that I take from this day is it happens to the best of us. You pick up and carry on. There’s always the next event…Take a Look at my graduation photo that I had done in honor of my graduation.

It’s Graduation Time!!!

I am preparing to graduate :L’Autre Academie de Mannequinat Academy on 11/7/09 YAY! So I have to style 4 runway outfits and write up my style cards. I have burned the runway up I have been up and down it so much practicing LOL Hope the lagg monster is not determined to get me. Doesn’t matter if he does I’m going to fight my way sown that runway without moving a hair out of place. Wish me Luck!

Please Don’t Stop the Music

Tonight was a night filled with great music…My close friend Rico sang me a lovely song and strummed his guitar like “Santana” it really made my evening It’s amazing how music can really lift your soul and put you in a better mood Thanks Rico Afterwards I was just going from sim to sim and ended up pretending to be a DJ LOL. I even took a pic of myself! This reminded me of  my girl DJ Nisa, another close friend of mine. She is a beast on the turntable! I want to be like her when I grow up! Love you Nisa Constantine & Rico Plisskin so happy your my friends!

Attitude Speaks Volumes…

I received a notice today from MPI about some newly added info for our reading enjoyment. I found it especially interesting because I am one that believes that without a positive attitude first and foremost a person will not reach their full potential in any life. So I really had a profound appreciation deep down when I read the following from MPI’s blog. Here are a few of my favorite highlights:

1. Cooperative
This sounds easy enough. Being cooperative will easily get you well liked. Being cooperative means to know your role well and play that role. So, from the onset make sure you know what your position entails. Sometimes, being cooperative also means taking the initiative to go beyond the call of duty to facilitate your colleague’s work.

2. Can Do
Make sure that your attitude includes a ‘can do’ attitude. Never give up no matter how tough the task seems. Never say you cannot do this for reason you were never taught how to do it. The cardinal sin being saying, “They never taught me this in college.” You may laugh and say the person who said this statement must be stupid. Such statements are common amongst fresh graduates in the working world. If you feel lost, ask. But never say you cannot do it.

3. Care
Care enough about your work. Strive for excellence in everything that you do. You are measured by the results of your action at work. One common mistake amongst newbies at work is to not take their work seriously. Please come to grip with this early, as you are now at another phase of your life. This is not a honeymoon. Neither is it ‘just work’ as I have heard. Do not expect to be successful with your career if you do not care about your own career. Care enough about your career and it will take care of you.

4. Cheerful
Let’s face it, no one likes to work with people who sulk, whine and complain the whole day. Be cheerful and energetic at work. It lets your colleagues know that you enjoy what you do. Smile and walk with a spring in your step. A cheerful attitude is an easy attitude to practice at work. Remember to greet people with a sincere smile in the morning. That’s a start.

5. Candor
You should make being honest and sincere your working attitude. Be truthful in your dealings. Do not be secretive at work. People do not like others who seem to have a lot to hide. It doesn’t build trust, which is a basic ingredient in making sure the team delivers the best results. If you do not know something, say you don’t and find how. Ask for the answer. Do not pretend that you know and not deliver.

Your working attitude will determine how high you fly in your career. It will also determine how people relate to you. Obviously, the above list of working attitudes isn’t exhaustive. It is a start. Have you adjusted your attitude today?  I have
